Our 24 month old finally started consistently getting object colors and right/left recently - it actually seemed harder than i thought it would be - but many children I see don't consistently get these concepts until significantly later (30 to 40 months in what I see in friend's children).
It was interesting - object recognition and labeling where no problem, and the naming of the colors wasn't an issue - but for some reason using colors with objects seems more challenging. I have no idea what the normal age is for kids to get the concept of "colors" and to be able to consistently use them - but our 24 month old finally has them.
The concept of Right and Left seems a little easier - perhaps because there are fewer options, but we'll see how it goes. Its not 100% consistent yet.
