Choline Pregnancy Update - Baby #2 is 8 Months Old, Starting to Cruise

filed under: Choline Benefits Personal Experience
Our second child turned 8 months old this week - and for the past two weeks has been starting to crawl, starting to pull up (in the crib) and last week started to cruise (walk around the entire crib while standing, holding on to the top rail of the crib), without problems.  Given the strength with which she is standing (very solid - standing for 20 to 30 minutes at a time by herself - while holding things and walking (very tentatively) around.

At the current rate I think she'll be walking freely across the room sometime in the next 4 to 6 weeks, if our last child is any guide.  Some parents put a lot of emphasis on crawling - which I typically skip - instead I let them hold on to my fingers and walk around the house.

One thing to note, however, is that tummy time is very important - as research like this recent report shows:

Meanwhile - child #1 is doing well and is now 26 months old.  He's largely become fluent (perhaps a vocabulary of between 400 and 600 words+) in Mandarin Chinese - and an equal level in English.

Interestingly - I've noticed that the whole "Choline-induced Sleeplessness" effect is still happening.  Sometimes I given child #1 Egg Yolk French Toast for breakfast - and use 3 or 4 egg yolks and one piece of bread.  I can almost guarantee that that afternoon's nap will not happen when I do this - and so its a napless day - though sleep comes fast when he finally goes to bed at 7 or 8pm.
